“Wizard Oil (I)”

Description

"Oh, I love to travel far and near throughout my native land, I love to sell as I go 'long, and take the cash in hand...." The singer describes how in each town he visits they come up to him and declare "I'll take another bottle of Wizard Oil"

Notes

Sandburg's notes imply this piece may be by Harry E. Randall, but the matter is not clarified.

It probably was true that, in every town the salesman visited, he received testimonials to his product. Chances are, however, that he hired people to offer them.

Unlike Wizard Oil (II), this does not appear to be entirely a sales pitch. But it's close enough.... - RBW
